Volunteer Training in Documentation Techniques

If you've ever wanted to help archaeologists to document rock art sites, now is your chance to learn how at a two-day workshop! NRAF Members learn the fundamentals of rock art research around the world and are introduced to the rock art here in Nevada. Also discussed are requirements to volunteer for a Federal Land Management agency and how to become involved in Site Stewardship. Then, the basics of site documentation, which meets or exceeds standards set by the International Federation of Rock Art Organizations, are discussed. By the end of the day, participants have a basic understanding of the potential and the process of rock art documentation. On the second day, participants go into the field to use what they've learned.
