Gift & Estate Planning
A planned gift to the Nevada Rock Art Foundation is a powerful and thoughtful way to share your dedication to the protection and preservation of Nevada’s rock art into the future. NRAF’s tax ID number is 01-0588006.
There are a variety of simple ways to give to the NRAF that can provide financial and tax benefits to you and your loved ones. We hope that you will find the information here helpful as you prepare your estate and gift plans.
Bequests
One simple way to protect Nevada rock art for the future is to leave a charitable bequest to Nevada Rock Art Foundation.
A bequest to the Nevada Rock Art Foundation is free from federal and state taxes. The amount of the bequest is deducted from your estate total, offering substantial savings by decreasing the value of the estate subject to taxation. There is no limit to the amount of your estate that can be left to charitable organizations.
For gifts that take effect after your lifetime, we suggest you name Nevada Rock Art Foundation as follows: "Nevada Rock Art Foundation, a nonprofit membership organization, incorporated by the laws of the State of Nevada, having as its principal address 1201 Terminal Way, Suite 215, Reno, NV."
Retirement Plans
You may name Nevada Rock Art Foundation as a beneficiary of your 401(k), IRA, or other retirement accounts. Gifts from pension plans are issued free of federal taxes
Life Insurance
Life insurance policies allow several ways to give. You can donate a paid policy that you no longer need by naming Nevada Rock Art Foundation as the beneficiary and policy owner. In return, you will receive an immediate tax deduction based on your cost basis in the policy, and it will reduce the value of your estate by the full face value of the policy, potentially reducing estate taxes. Upon your death, the life insurance proceeds will be passed on to Nevada Rock Art Foundation.
Legacy Circle
The Nevada Rock Art Foundation’s Legacy Circle honors and recognizes the generosity and vision of those who have chosen to leave a legacy to the Nevada Rock Art Foundation in their will or estate plan. By including NRAF in a will or estate plan, you not only fulfill your philanthropic goals but you also help us protect and preserve Nevada’s rock art as well as provide for other ongoing needs.
